India as a country is a medley of cultures, food, religions, festivals, languages. What we wear has to reflect this great diversity…it has to be colorful and perky! Where western cultures are quite conservative with mixing colors and prints, we go all out in creating blends which make our eyes sparkle with excitement!
I am wearing a black lehenga made in soft pure georgette. Its borders and the contemporary one shoulder choli are heavily embellished with a mix of Kutch, Rabari and Abhala mirror embroideries. It has floral and geometric weaves in green, orange, pink, yellow, blue, red, white. The crop blouse has a one shoulder neckline with the most crafty back. Its a piece of art right there! If you love colors this would be like spotting a rainbow for you. The attire is completed by a veil cloth called Dupatta, which is made in green net material. It’s a perfect outfit embracing the tradition of Garba with a contemporary touch. I am so excited and looking forward to dazzle in this ensemble.
ViBha – https://www.facebook.com/ViBha.Vogue/
is going to be my go-to store for Indian and fusion fashion. What sets it apart is that Vinaya (the CEO and Founder of ViBha) is a fashion & textile designer herself. Every outfit is a unique design of her’s, reflecting her taste for elegance and style. You will see a lot of thought given to contemporary fashion, cuts, prints, design, quality and styling. It was an honor collaborating with you! 🙂
And it goes without saying, I wouldn’t have felt & looked half as beautiful if it weren’t for Jay! I find more & more respect for his skills and work ethic every time we collaborate together. He knows how to tune that freaking lens 🙂
With the festive season peeking from around the corner, I couldn’t stop my self from indulging into some peppy ethnic fashion.
